What does the end of support for a product mean?
The end of SharePoint Server 2010, and SharePoint Foundation 2010 software support means that Microsoft no longer provides:
- Technical support.

- Time zone updates.
- Operating systems supporting SharePoint Server 2010 are also reaching or already reached end of support.
So, what does this mean for a company that is still running SharePoint 2010? Microsoft is simply phasing out from extended support for SharePoint 2010. Nothing shuts down or stops working, however, you will not be able to request changes to product design and features for SharePoint 2010.
